Eken Park and Emerson-East Neighborhoods will be holding a meeting at 6:30 p.m. on November 3rd, in the East High School Cafeteria. Draft copies of the recommendations made as part of the CDBG planning process are available interested persons. We are hoping to work with Eken Park and make plans for dealing with the prostitution problem on North Street. I am working with area schools and churches to identify some collaborative projects that we can work on together. In 1998, the city plans to reconstruct East Washington Street in various phases for a few years. Neighborhood Associations will have an opportunity to give input into how to improve the appearance of the "gateway into the city" I definitely feel that we need to be proactive as well as collaborative with other neighborhoods in this process.
