An "East Rail
Corridor" land use planning forum has been set for Saturday, July 14th
from 9 AM to I PM in the Research Products Tech Center Meeting Room, 130 S.
Ingersoll Street!
The forum will be the
first of several community-wide meetings to focus attention on land use
planning for the East Rail Corridor area. The East Rail Corridor is an area
bounded by East Washington Avenue, the Yahara River, East Wilson Street, and
South Blair Street.
The main purpose of the
forum is to review and discuss the different land use concepts that have been
developed by the East Rail Corridor Plan Advisory Committee. Those who attend
will be asked to provide feedback and ideas about land uses for the study area,
park & open space concepts, rail alignment & commuter rail station
locations, housing alternatives and business development options. Attendees
will be able to participate in planning exercises, visit interactive
information stations and take part in a large group discussion at Noon. Parking is free at the meeting site and
refreshments will be provided.
The forum is sponsored by
the City of Madison and East Rail Corridor Plan Advisory Committee. For more
information, contact Tim Kabat at 266-4635 or tkabat@ci.madi-son.wi.us.
