We’ve received reports of thefts and
vandalism in our neighborhood. A home on Gorham Street has had plants uprooted and thrown at their home. This home has had a brick thrown through a window. The white picket fence has been broken in areas as well.

A home on N. Baldwin Street has had lawn ornaments stolen on two different occasions. Halloween decorations have been taken and yard ornaments in the back yard were taken on a different occasion.

On other occasions, garden flowers have been cut and stolen. Many residents work very hard to have gardens and yards look nice for all to enjoy. It is very disturbing when someone ruins hard work or takes things that do not belong to them. If you happen to notice suspicious characters in your neighborhood or hear things that might be out of the ordinary, please call the Madison Police Department.

Another note:

With water in basements and rising lake waters, it would be nice if you could check on some of your elderly neighbors to make sure they are doing alright. They can tell you other stories of floods in years past. If you are going on vacation and leaving your home, remember to ask a neighbor to keep an eye on things.
