On May 3, between 12:00
noon and 3:00 p.m., Christ Presbyterian Church will be hosting a "Round
House Raising." A month ago,
six men from CPC went to El Salvador to participate in the building of twenty-five
"round houses" that they had purchased for a community in El Salvador
devastated by the recent earthquakes.
Their love for the people they met and their enthusiasm for what these
houses can do for people in third world countries has led them to encourage others
to get involved.
The Round House is a
unique home, constructed of Oriented Strand Board, that is so structurally
sound that it can withstand up to Force 4 hurricane winds and can maintain its
structural integrity during an earthquake. The house has many more benefits than these two but, most
importantly, the people who now occupy these few houses are excited and
grateful for them.
We invite you to stop by
during the construction on May 3 or in the weeks thereafter to view the Round
House. We'll have more information
available at that time, and you can see first hand what an amazing structure
this home is.
