The Friends
and Stewards of the Parkway have been busy this spring. A new crop of stewards will be through
with their training by the time you read this article. And we will have had a
big clean-up, mulching, weed pulling and pruning event in Tenney Woods on Earth
Day. We will have already cleaned
up and possibly replanted the new access site along Riverside Drive near the
Willy Street bridge in early May.
Note we have a secondary work site listed below. This approach should enable us to work at two sites if we have a large turnout of workers and/or weather/coordination with another group prevents us from fully conducting the primary activity. We always meet at the primary site first!

Beautify the neighborhood, do something for the community, learn about
the parkway and have fun too. If
you live down by the river stop by and check out the changes.
Plenty
remains to be done and we could use your (or your family's) energy and
enthusiasm for a few hours. We are looking for good ideas for the rest of the
season including cultural and social activities! Send us an email at friendsofyaharariverparkway@egroups.com
or call Margaret 257-5718 or Ed 244-8847.
