Alder Candidates on the Web

All candidates for the 2nd district’s aldermanic seat being vacated by Barbara Vedder have been invited to submit position papers for TLNA’s web site (http://danenet.wicip.org/tlna/web-data/issues/alder01.html). Their comments will be posted as soon as they are received.

As of December 15, there are three announced candidates necessitating a primary election in February. Since this newsletter is published bimonthly and the deadline for the newsletter is before the deadline for nomination papers, TLNA’s website will provide neighborhood residents with timely information about the race. If TLNA sponsors a debate before the primary, that date will also be posted.

In addition the campaign finance reports received by the city clerk’s office for the candidates will be posted on the site. Campaign finance reports are also posted on the city clerk’s Web site, www.ci.madison.us./clerk/campfin/reports.htm. Council members must file paper finance reports with the city clerk; filing electronically is voluntary.

Speaking of TLNA’s website I’m looking for some volunteers who would be interested in helping me redesign the site. The current contents of the website include a three year archive of the neighborhood newsletter, a listing of the TLNA council, the neighborhood plan from a few years ago, the Tenney-Lapham Neighborhood Walking Tour, and links to a few other neighborhood sites. If you have an interest in web design and/or graphic design or have suggestions about the contents of the website, please contact me at 255-3486 or reshaw@students.wisc.edu.
