Cheryl
Wittke, TLNA President, called for a vote to change bylaws as published in the
TLNA Fall 2005 newsletter. Called
for a motion and a second, bylaw changes adopted.
Cheryl
distributed TLNA Neighborhood Plan ballots to meeting participants, and asked
participants to please complete and return them to Studio Bloom, 845 E. Johnson
Street by November 11. Neighbors
can read the draft neighborhood plan at http://danenet.wicip.org/tlna,
and also plans for the 800 Block of E. Washington, which is an approved PUD
(Planned Unit Development) also known as the Gorman Project.
Residents
are asked to attend a Town Hall meeting where a vote will be held on the
neighborhood plan. The date of
this meeting will be announced in a flyer/postcards distributed to all TLNA
residents and property owners.
It will likely be the week of November 28. After this vote, the TLNA Council will act on the plan and
send it to the City of Madison Common Council.
A resident
asked what the ÒGorman ProjectÓ is - David Waugh, TLNA Council member and
neighborhood representative to the 800 block planning process described the
project and neighborhood input that went into the planning. More information on this project
can also be found on the neighborhood website.
John
Johnson, co-president of Lapham-Marquette Parent-Teacher Group (PTG), gave an
update on the Madison Metropolitan School DistrictÕs East Boundary Task Force. John described the process and the possibility that an east
side elementary school Ð perhaps Lapham Ð could be closed, or boundaries
changed significantly. Sharon
Redinger, OÕKeefe Middle School PTG described a collaboration with east and
northside schools that aims to avoid all school closings. John and Sharon will keep the
neighborhood posted on new developments. The Lapham-Marquette PTG may call a neighborhood forum
to gather resident input, perhaps in December.
Meeting
adjourned at 7:15.
