Research Report Guidelines:
The Fifth Grade students at Marquette Elementary did a research project
on ocean animals. They did a whole unit on how to do a Research Report
on a particular topic. This included:
- How to choose a topic which had enough information
- How to formulate questions about a topic
- How to use different types of reference material
- Encyclopedias and CD-ROMs
- Internet
- Linkline and library books
- Videos
- Periodicals
- How to read and take notes on topic questions
- How to make an outline
- Writing an introduction and conclusion
- How to do a bibliography
- Writing a rough draft
- Typing their final copy on the computer, after the conclusion of
keyboarding class
- Using Kid Pix to create a Title page
- Create visuals for an oral report
- Make note cards and practice giving report on topic orally
- Presentation of report to class using note cards only
