Joseph Hausmann’s Capital Brewery, at the corner of State and Gorham, about 1879. At one time it was Madison’s largest brewery. Because of its location and free lunches, the Capital Brewery was popular with University students. The modern Capital Brewery is located in Middleton. SHSW WHi(D31)586
