Historic Madison has served as Madison's historical society since 1974. Our mission is to preserve and share stories about Madison's past through publications, events, and public programs.

Our publications include:
  • The annual Journal of the Four Lake Region, containing at least four articles of historical interest, provided free to members
  • Forest Hill Cemetery: A Biographical Guide to the Ordinary and Famous Women and Men Who Shaped Madison and the World
  • Bishops to Bootleggers: A Biographical Guide to the Ordinary and Famous Women and Men Who Shaped Madison and the World (a guide to Resurrection Cemetery)

  • Historic Madison newsletter, published three times annually, provided free to members
