Regular Training Rides

The following is a short list training rides held in Madison, Wisconsin or nearby on a regular basis.

The Wingra Heron Hops and Derailleur Society hosts morning rides every weekday.
Madison Training Criteriums are regular training races held on Tuesday evenings through September ?, at the UW Research Park. Registration is near the corner of Rosa Rd. and Research Park Dr. Call Craig Heywood at 608/256-1357 for details.
If you have an interest in racing, consider coming out to see what all the fuss is about. While you're there, volunteer to guard a corner or driveway. Just ask for John Wilson and say you want to volunteer.

Time Trial Thursday are regular time trial races.
6:30 pm; June to August 2001
$1 daily fee. All ages, sizes, kinds, bikes, categories, etc.

1st Bourbon Road & KP (West side of Cross Plains) 15K, up,down,turn around.

2nd, 4th Paoli - Hwy PB; meet in the park in Paoli by the water pump. 10.1 Miles flat, kinda.

3rd & 4th Paoli - Sun Valley; meet in the park in Paoli by the water pump. 6.7 Miles hilly, hilly, hilly.

5th (if month has one) Twin Valley Hill Climb (Off Hwy 14 East of Cross Plains) 1.2 mile climb of lactic acid death.

WISPORT is "the only Citizen's Road Racing Series in the Midwest". Their web site has a schedule and contact information.

Upper Midwest Cycling is "the gateway for cycling information covering USCF events in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota. We also will be covering ABR and NORBA races in the same area."

The Great Dane Velo Club has a calendar of (mostly USCF) events on their web site . It's more comprehensive than this one.

Team@Internet maintains searchable racing schedules .
