The BCP was originally designed and created by Scott Rose

Birth of the BCP
as told by Joe King

In 1994 Scott walked over to my desk at work and said, "have you seen this?" What he showed me then was a computer program running on UNIX called Mosaic. Next thing either of us knew, Scott had created the Bicycling Community Page and we dubbed the emerging World Wide Web the greatest computer virus ever invented. Instead of infecting the computer, it infects the computer programmer thus putting an end to worker productivity. Fortunately for all of us, Scott's creation, the Bicycling Community Page, is a valuable resource. It is, in fact, one of the most valuable resources on Bicycling in existence.

Thanks

When Scott left town, Joe King stepped in. He kept the pages up to date on important events. The web-based comment submission form for the SouthWest path is an excellent innovation. He also seamlessly migrated the bikies listserve to its new home here at danenet. Cyclists throughout Dane County owe Joe a great big 'thanks' for keeping this wonderful web-site going.
Now its Gene's turn.
