Proxy Server on Android

Have you ever wondered whether you could configure a proxy server on your Android phone? So you wont need to buy proxy next time.

Once you need it, you feel desperate to know how to actually do it successfully. Proxies set up may be a difficult task for some, but with the right guide, you will be able to finally do it.In fact, you don’t even have to hire high-pricing operators to do it for you. You can just set up proxies easily. Just read on and find out how.

Steps on Configuring Proxies with Ease:

1. Go to Settings.

The first thing that you need to do is to go to your device’s settings. Here, you can find lots of functions and changes that you would want to do with your phone. This is an opportunity for you to personalize things and stuff on your phone.

2. Tap Wi-Fi.

Now, the labels for Wi-Fi settings may vary among Android phones. In some, it is called Wi-Fi settings. In others, it is just Wi-Fi. But, all the same, function, tap it to modify things in there.

3. Find the network.

Next up is for you to find the Wi-Fi network that you would want to change the proxies’ settings for. Apparently, you need to connect to it before you can actually attempt to modify its proxies.

4. Tap “Modify Network”.

Again, this setting differs among different Android phones. However, as long as your phone is Android, then you will not have a hard time following the instructions here.

So, after you have connected to the network which you want to change proxies, you can tap “Modify Network”. If you cannot find it, you can go to the “Advanced settings” option of the network.

5. Select from the options available.

Upon tapping on “Modify Network”, there will be a prompt as to what you would want to do with the proxies setting. You can choose None, Manual, or Proxy Auto-Config.

If you select None, then it will be understood that you don’t have a proxy to input. If you select Manual, you will need to manually modify the proxies for this network through proxy server settings. And finally, if you choose proxy auto-config, then your device will have to detect the appropriate settings for the same network.

You need to be reminded though that not all Android devices have the option of Proxy Auto-Config. This is only available to the more recent updates of Android.

6. Enter the proxies.

Now that you know how to get into the proxy server settings, you can already modify your network settings. So, basically, you would select the “Manual” option.

Here, you can fill the details that would be asked of you from the proxy server’s details. This is where you can finally enter the address of the proxy in the box provided. You can actually enter in the box the proxy address or the IP address that you want to use.

Now that you know how to modify your network settings to input your desired proxy, it is time to try it out on your own. Apparently, you would need to repeatedly do these steps if you use different networks. This is so because once you did it with one network, and use another one, later on, the settings would only be saved for the former network and not for the latter. So, if you would still want to use the proxy, then you have to do it all over again.
